NEXT Atlanta presents ‘NEXT: Re-ignite” – an outdoor, evening arts salon featuring visual and performance pieces from some of Atlanta’s leading artists. It’s all part of the ELEVATE ATL 2021 Festival: Re-emerge. Re-connect. Re-ignite.
The last year has been unprecedented in its tumult and division. Artists help tell our stories and capture truths, heal our communities and inspire us to rise again even stronger.
NEXT: Re-ignite is a celebration of this truth. This multi-genre arts salon will bring together four of Atlanta’s most influential art activists–and you–to share their art and their stories of resilience for a community eager for restoration.
The evening will be hosted at the incredible Whitespace Gallery in Inman Park/Old Fourth Ward against the backdrop of rising visual artist Zipporah Camille Thompson’s exhibit, “Wild Chrysalis Bloom”. The salon will feature performances by Atlanta jazz rising star Kenny Banks Jr. and the nationally-renowned poet and storyteller Jon Goode. It will also feature commentary from Community Archivist Malikah Berry and you, the audience!
Come join us on Friday, September 24, from 6 – 9 PM, rain or shine, in this magical, outdoor setting at Whitespace Gallery to be inspired by the healing power of art.
Masks must be worn, at all times, indoors.
ELEVATE: REOPEN, REIGNITE & RECONNECT will take place on weekends from September 10 through October 31. In partnership with art galleries, museums, theaters, performance venues, restaurants and bars, the public art festival will help ignite interest in arts and cultural events in communities across Atlanta, from Buckhead to Downtown and Old Fourth Ward to West End.
